BEAUTIFUL!!! 3 (pc) Miessen Porcelain "Indian Flowers" Set. One of the oldest decorative motifs applied to Meissen porcelain is “Indian Flowers”. While there are no Indian flowers to be found in the design, it represents a desire to replicate Chinese porcelain which was highly prized in Europe at the time. “Indian Flowers” was designed in 1720--the same year Meissen began its’ factory production in the famous Albrechtsburg Castle in Germany. Meissen is known worldwide for its iconic “crossed swords” factory mark, inspired by the coat of arms of the Electorate of Saxony. At that time, wealthy aristocracies gifted Meissen porcelain as a means to forge alliances, commemorate important events or express appreciation. Today, Meissen remains synonymous with luxury and is highly prized by collectors and connoisseurs worldwide! This gorgeous set of Meissen porcelain is absolutely pristine, LIKE NEW! They were purchased at a quaint little shop in Munich in 2000, and then placed in storage for the next 24 years, never displayed. The measurement of each piece is as follows: vase 5" x 4"; dish 6" x 4 3/4" x 1 1/4"; covered box 5" x 3 3/4" x 2".
