(4) Beautiful Antique Chinese Famille Rose Medallion Hand Painted Pieces of China with striking Gold Trim!!! Circa early 1930's - 1960's. They are so lovely and would make a great addition to any collectionl!!! Rose Medallion refers to the color pink. Although often mistaken for roses, the actual flower depicted in the pattern is a peony - the national flower of China. Rose Medallion is a style of porcelain that originated in the 18th century during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). This pattern typically features alternating panels of floral and bird motifs, and the central medallion often depicts a scene of a family gathering or a courtyard scene. The intricate designs were painted by hand. This pattern rose to fame in America, so much so that President's Ulysses S. Grant and James Buchanan's wives both ordered them in a large quantity. Such a fascinating history for what has become one of the most beloved collections in the world of Fine China!

The majority of these pieces were made during the1930's, while the large Lidded Urn was made during a later period. Despite the different decades they are all clearly part of one collection, "Rose Famille Medallion." They are in excellent condition, no chips or marks, only the most minor wear on the older pieces commiserate with age. The dimensions are as follows: Large Urn with Lid -7 1/4" tall 7" wide 3" mouth; Small Vase - 8 1/2" tall 4" mouth; Soup Tureen with Lid 6" tall 8" wide; Plate 8 3/4" Diameter.
