    Wow! What a find! This Alvin "French Scroll" Sterling Silver 54 piece set is offered in it's original wooden case dating back to the late 1800s - early 1900's. The Alvin Company was founded in 1886, by William H. Jamoneau in New Jersey. This particular set was purchased at Woodward & Lothrop, located in Washington, D.C. This department store was ahead of it's time and favored by Washington' wealthiest citizens. Also known as "Woodies" They were the first department store with electricity in all of Washington and they founded the first D.C. Christmas Parade! All of the pieces are in excellent condition! This set includes: (8) Dinner Knives, (8) Dinner Spoons, (8) Dinner Forks, (8) Salad Forks, (8) Teaspoons, (8) Soup Spoons, (1) Butter Knife, (4) Larger Serving Spoons, (1) Serving Fork, (1) Soup Serving Spoon, (1) Nut Serving Spoon. The beautiful original vintage wooden case with it's light green lining, moves you to reminisce about those very early years spent with your great grandparents! Really special! The box measures 16"x12"x7".
